With over 25 years experience in the neuro-disability area, we can provide specialised clinical assessments, accessible reports and a proven track record of clear, concise evidence.

Our Assistive Technology expert, Ciara Fitzsimons, is a CORU-registered and IASLT accredited Speech & Language Therapist. With over 25 years of specialist practice directly in the area of Assistive Technology, Ciara has an internationally recognised specialist clinical background.

She gained extensive experience working with children and adults with physical, cognitive, and learning disabilities in schools, homes, care and employment environments.

For 15 years Ciara coordinated a specialist interdisciplinary Assistive Technology assessment team within a national clinic for physical disability, where she served as clinical lead, providing supervision and expertise to a nationwide network of clinicians.

Ciara was Clinical Audit Coordinator for this specialist area, establishing clinical audit as a core source of validation both of clinical standards and continuous development.

Ciara has conducted and presented research internationally for more than 15 years and has lectured on various aspects of Assistive Technology at third-level institutions in Ireland.

Ciara maintains an active clinical caseload and ongoing commitment to research, education and professional development, ensuring recommendations are evidence-based and aligned with current best practice.

Since 2025, Ciara has worked in independent practice, providing expert Assistive Technology and AAC assessments across Ireland and the UK. She offers expert witness reports for both Plaintiff and Defence legal teams, delivers professional supervision to clinicians, and provides training in her specialist areas of practice. She has completed expert witness training, and has provided assistance in 100’s of cases to date.
